From 02/14/2022 to 02/18/2022, a week of the department was organized at the Department "Tourism and Service". Within the framework of the week of the department , the following events were held:

1) Round table: "Guide: problems and prospects of professional skills development during the pandemic" (online in the Zoom Meetings program)

2) Subject Olympiad on educational programs: "Restaurant business and hotel business", "Tourism", "International tourism".

3) Competition among students in the educational program "Restaurant business and hotel business" cocktail preparation.

On 14 02, 2022, a round table was held: "Guide: problems and prospects for the development of professional skills during the pandemic ". Moderator of the round table: Aliya Anarkhanovna Zhunusova, PhD, Head of the Department "Tourism and Service".

The welcoming speech was delivered by: Tultabaev M.Ch., Doctor of Technical Sciences, Vice-Rector for Science KazUTB, Zhunusova A.A., PhD, Head of the Department "Tourism and Service", Nurgalieva A.Sh., Candidate of Economics, Ass. professor Dean of the Faculty "Economics and Service", Rey Inna Yurievna, PhD, ass.Professor, employer of the Department "Tourism and Service" General Director of the Travel Agency "Sayat" LLP, Nur-Sultan

Presentations were made by: Abdikarimova Madina Nurbulatovna, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Tourism, Head of the Department of "Tourism and Hospitality" of the International University of Tourism and Hospitality of Turkestan " Professional competencies and implementation of students in the field of tourism"; Sultanova Ayagoz Kanatovna, Head of the Department of Excursion Services of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan "Innovative technologies in excursion activities on the example of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan"; Mamutova Klara Ruslanovna, Deputy Director of KTA " The role of industry associations in the development of tourism of the Republic of Kazakhstan"; Akhiyarova Zaituna Tokhtarovna, Director of the Certification Center of the hospitality industry at KTA and KAGIR "Independent certification of specialists in tourism" The participants of the round table were: students from the 1st to the 4th year of the OP 6B11127 - Tourism, 6B11129 – International tourism, 6B11126 – RDGB The round table is held in the format of reports (up to 15 minutes together with the discussion), accompanied by a presentation.

On February 16, 2022, as part of the week of the department, a student subject Olympiad was held on the educational programs " Restaurant business and hotel business", "Tourism", "International Tourism".

The subject Olympiad was attended by students of 2-3 courses of full-time bachelor's degree. The Olympiad consisted of two rounds:

The first round is the greeting of the team. At this stage, the team had to introduce themselves (the name of the team, introduce the captain and team members, justify the choice of this profession). The second round is the defense of abstracts (projects). This stage provides for the identification of theoretical and practical knowledge of educational programs among the participants.

According to the sum of the points, the teams that respectively took 1,2,3 places (team and individual) were identified. The winners who took the first, second and third place were awarded with diplomas and prizes.

On February 17, 2022, as part of the week of the Department of Tourism and Service, an event was held dedicated to the International Bartender's Day, which has been celebrated since 2008.

The welcoming speech was made by: Vice-rector for Science M.Tultabaev, Dean of the faculty "Economics and Service" Nurgalieva A.Sh., Head of the Department "Tourism and Service" Zhunusova A.A. The presenter demonstrated a presentation for the guests and participants of the competition: " Legends of the bar business ".

Alisher Sartaev, a 2nd-year student of the Restaurant and Hotel Business educational program, showed a master class on table setting for VIP guests at diplomatic receptions.

The next stage of the event consisted of a competition: "The best cocktail" Teams participated: RDGB – 212, RDGB – 201, RDGB – 202, RDGB – 203. Each team demonstrated the preparation of a cocktail (creation history, design, presentation).

The competition was evaluated by a competent jury: Nurgalieva A.Sh. – Dean of the faculty: "Tourism and Service", Kurmankulova N.Zh. – Head of the department: "Economics, Accounting and Audit".

According to the results of the competition, the 1st place was taken by RDGB - 212, RDGB – 201; the 2nd place – RDGB – 202, RDGB - 203

All teams were awarded with a diploma and memorable prizes. The event dedicated to the "Bartender's Day" was informative and creative, it was very interesting!

At the invitation of the Department of "Tourism and Service", high school students from 47 schools-gymnasium of Nur-Sultan visited our university. In the first part of the tour, the guests attended an event dedicated to the "International Bartender's Day". At the end of the event, the guests tasted a coffee break prepared in the buffet hall, organized by the department.

In the second part of the tour, the head of the department "Tourism and Service" Zhunusova A. A. and senior lecturer Bektenov S. Zh., responsible for career guidance at the department, told the students in detail about the department, showed educational laboratories and classrooms, as well as the achievements of the department. During the excursion, the students listened with great interest about the specialties of the department "Tourism and Service".

As a result of the week of the department, it was noted that all teachers and students of the department showed good knowledge and high professional level.
