On February 11, 2026, a gastronomic cocktail-making competition was held at the Rixos Hotel and Restaurant Complex, organized by the Department of Tourism and Service. The competition aimed to enhance students’ professional interest in the restaurant and bar industry, as well as to develop practical skills in bartending.
Teams from the educational programs “International Tourism,” “Tourism,” and “Restaurant and Hotel Business” participated in the competition. Their performances were evaluated by a judging panel based on technique, taste, presentation, and creativity.
The competition was held in three categories: classic cocktails, original modern cocktails, and the “Black Box” challenge, in which teams received unknown ingredients and created an original cocktail within a limited time.
In addition, master classes were held during the competition, where students demonstrated the preparation of exquisite dishes and desserts. Winning teams received diplomas and commemorative prizes. The competition contributes to the development of professional competencies, encourages a creative approach, and strengthens the connection between education and the hospitality industry.
We express our sincere gratitude to the Rixos Hotel and Restaurant Complex, the university administration, the faculty of “Economics and Business”, and the faculty of the Department of Tourism and Service for organizing and supporting the competition.
