Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics
Artificial intelligence in academic and administrative processes, data analytics, reporting for management and new intelligent services.
The KazUTB engineering team that designs, builds and runs the university's digital environment: from the official website to the dormitory, library, proctoring and online-course systems.
About the department
The department brings together two centres and a development team. We do not buy off-the-shelf solutions where we can do better ourselves: products are built inside the university, reflect its processes and evolve with it.
Artificial intelligence in academic and administrative processes, data analytics, reporting for management and new intelligent services.
Infrastructure, networks, servers, corporate email, technical support for staff and students, information security.
Design, programming and maintenance of the university's own systems: website, portal, dormitory, library, proctoring, KRK, MOOC.

The main digital showcase of KazUTB
A multilingual website with its own content management system, the admissions e-queue and an AI assistant.
The kaztbu.edu.kz website is the first point of contact between applicants, partners, students and the university. It brings together more than a hundred sections: information about the university and its leadership, faculties and departments, educational programmes, tuition fees, news, announcements, documents and research materials. All content is managed by editors through the admin panel without developer involvement.
News, announcements, pages, documents and galleries are published by editors with role separation and moderation.
Bachelor's and master's catalogues, elective courses, Minor programmes and programme rankings imported from spreadsheets.
Applicants get a ticket online, track its status and are called to an admissions window.
The built-in assistant answers questions about admission, programmes and services and leads to the right page.
Smart header search understands names, topics and related queries in three languages.
Sitemap, metadata, fast loading and responsive layout for phones and tablets.
Text, photos and documents go to the section's responsible editor.
The material is entered into the admin panel in the required languages and reviewed.
Through the menu, search or the AI assistant the visitor lands on the page.
An application, a queue ticket, a consultation or a jump to an external service.
One login, every internal service
A single entry point for staff and students: requests, documents, workflows and notifications in one window.
The portal replaces scattered "call or visit the office" requests with unified digital routes. A staff member or student signs in with a corporate account, sees only their services and submits a request in a couple of clicks. Responsible units process requests in their own workspaces while the requester tracks the status and receives notifications.
Sign in with the corporate @kaztbu.edu.kz email, no separate passwords for each system.
Certificates, appeals, memos and requests to units routed by role.
Profile, request history, documents and notifications in one place.
Incoming request queue, assignment of responsible staff, deadlines and comments.
Status changes arrive by email and appear in the portal.
Managers see workload, processing times and process bottlenecks.
The user signs in with a corporate account.
The required service or request type is chosen from the catalogue.
The request reaches the responsible unit and goes through approval.
The finished document or answer is available in the personal account.
Full cycle: from application to check-in
A large system that handles online applications, the queue, review, check-in and resident records.
Moving into a dormitory used to require a personal visit, paper forms and manual room records. The system makes the whole process digital: a student applies online with attached documents, the housing committee reviews it in an operator workspace, and dormitory staff see an up-to-date room map, free places and each student's residence history.
A form with faculty, year and benefit category, document upload and email confirmation.
Automatic queue formation taking categories and submission date into account.
Review, requests for missing documents, approval or refusal with a comment.
Buildings, floors, rooms and places; place assignment and relocation in a few clicks.
Contracts, terms, check-outs, extensions and statistics by faculty.
Summaries on occupancy, the queue and benefit categories for management.
The student fills in the form and attaches documents.
The application takes its place in the queue according to priority rules.
The committee reviews it and assigns a place.
Dormitory staff record the check-in and the student is notified.
Catalogue, collection and e-resources
Electronic catalogue, collection records, lending and returns, reader cards and access to electronic resources.
The library system unites the traditional collection and electronic resources. A reader searches for publications in a single catalogue, reserves books and sees their loans; a librarian manages acquisitions, inventory, lending and returns by barcode. Research papers by faculty are placed in the repository and available to researchers worldwide.
Search by author, title, subject, year and language; filters and reading lists for courses.
Acquisitions, write-offs, inventory, copies and storage locations.
Reader card and copy barcodes, due dates, renewals and reminders.
Textbooks, teaching aids and subscription databases accessed with the corporate account.
Faculty publications, conference proceedings and the KazUTB Bulletin with permanent links.
Popular publications, reader activity and literature coverage of courses.
The reader finds a publication in the catalogue from any device.
A print copy is reserved; an electronic one opens immediately.
The librarian lends the book by barcode and the due date is recorded on the card.
A due-date reminder, then return or online renewal.
Trustworthy online exams
Identity verification, monitoring of the exam session, recording of violations and reports for teachers.
Proctoring makes remote exams trustworthy. Before the start the system confirms the student's identity, checks the environment and begins monitoring through the camera and screen. Suspicious events, such as other people, window switching or leaving the frame, are recorded automatically, and the teacher receives a report with timestamps and video fragments to make a decision.
Face matching with the profile photo and document check before the start.
Control of camera, microphone, desktop and running applications.
Camera and screen recording with automatic highlighting of suspicious moments.
Other people, talking, tab switching, leaving the frame.
Trust level, list of events and recording fragments for manual review.
Sessions are created from the exam timetable and student groups.
The teacher schedules the exam and the proctoring mode.
The student confirms identity and passes the environment check.
The system monitors and records events during the session.
The teacher reviews the report and grades the exam.
AI analyses classes in real time
The digital platform of the Rector's Control Committee: scheduled and unscheduled inspections, class visits, instructions and a built-in AI that analyses teachers' classes in real time.
KRK moves the work of the Rector's Control Committee into a digital format. Inspections are planned and carried out in the system, results are recorded against common criteria, and instructions and their deadlines are tracked until closed. Its key feature is the artificial intelligence module: it connects to a class stream or recording, recognises speech and evaluates the lesson structure, alignment with the syllabus topic and student engagement. Committee members get an objective picture of teaching quality without attending every class, and teachers receive specific recommendations.
Connects to a class stream or recording, transcribes speech and evaluates the lesson against criteria in real time.
Compares the topic and content of the class with the course syllabus and timetable.
Share of explanation, questions and practice, student activity, pauses and off-topic segments.
Inspection plan, class observation checklists, recorded remarks and photos.
Instructions issued after inspections, responsible staff, deadlines and completion control.
Rankings and trends by department, faculty and teacher, reports for the rector's office.
The teacher runs the class and the system connects to the stream or recording.
AI transcribes speech and evaluates the lesson against criteria in real time.
Committee members review the results and add their own remarks if needed.
The teacher receives feedback, and remarks become instructions with tracked deadlines.
Students and employers on one platform
Vacancies and internships from partners, student and alumni CVs, applications, events and employment statistics.
The Career Centre platform connects students, alumni and employers. Partner companies post vacancies and internships, students maintain CVs and apply, and the centre sees the whole funnel from the first application to employment. Events such as job fairs, employer meetings and workshops are announced and collect registrations here as well.
Posting vacancies and internships, viewing applications, interview invitations.
CV builder with skills, projects and achievements, PDF export.
The student sees the path of each application: viewed, invited, declined, hired.
Job fairs, meetings and workshops with registration and reminders.
Support for state employment and internship programmes.
Indicators by faculty and programme for reporting and accreditation.
The employer posts an offer; the centre checks and approves it.
The student applies with the CV from their profile.
The employer invites the candidate and statuses update in the system.
The result is recorded in the centre's statistics.
University knowledge, online for everyone
An online-course platform: video lectures, assignments, tests, learning progress and certificates for students and external learners.
The MOOC platform lets KazUTB teachers create full online courses and lets students and external learners study at their own pace. A course consists of modules with video lectures, reading materials, assignments and tests. Progress is saved automatically, and on completion the learner receives a certificate with a verifiable number.
Modules, lessons, video, files and tests are assembled by the teacher without a developer.
Playback speed, subtitles, bookmarks and resume from where you stopped.
Questions of different types, attempts, deadlines and automatic grading.
The learner sees completed lessons, grades and upcoming deadlines.
Issued automatically on course completion with a QR code for verification.
Questions about a lesson, teacher answers and exchange of experience between learners.
The teacher assembles the modules and publishes the course.
The learner enrols with a corporate or external account.
Video, assignments and tests at a comfortable pace; progress is saved.
A certificate is issued on completion and the result appears in the profile.

How we work
We build core systems inside the university, so they fit our processes exactly and do not depend on external vendors.
We aim for single sign-on: corporate email opens the portal, the library, courses and other systems.
Every product is designed in Kazakh, Russian and English from day one.
We apply artificial intelligence to help students and staff: assistants, class analysis, analytics, automation of routine work.
Backups, access control, monitoring and personal data protection are part of every project.
Any university unit can propose a new service idea. We evaluate them and take the best into development.
