IELTS 6.0 is converted to the maximum UNT score for the profile subject “English language”.
Does the order of UNT profile subjects matter (for example Biology-Chemistry or Chemistry-Biology)?
No, the order does not matter.
Are there internal grants and olympiads at universities?
Yes, the university holds annual competitions and olympiads.

Yes, discounts are provided after applicant enrollment.
Please explain student academic mobility. How can I get a university grant to study abroad?
Academic mobility is an exchange program for 2nd-3rd year students.
The exchange lasts one semester (4-5 months): the student studies at a foreign university, then returns and continues studies in Kazakhstan.
- IELTS 6.0 or higher.

If I enroll in a paid program, how can I try to transfer to a grant?
Universities that enroll students on state grants conduct annual competitions for released state grants.

How and where is internship organized at universities?
In years 1 and 2, internship usually takes place in university laboratories.
In years 3 and 4, students intern in companies related to their future profession.
It is important to take company internship seriously, because it can help secure a job before graduation.
Where can I submit documents for the state grant competition?
You can submit documents at any university in your city and list the universities you want in the application.
Which profile subjects usually have high competition in the state grant contest?
Competition is usually higher in economics, law, and humanities, because fewer state grants are allocated to those subject combinations.
What preparation is required for applicants to IT programs?
Universities do not require mandatory programming skills before admission.
Core knowledge is taught from scratch in the first year, including the “Information and Communication Technologies” course.
What is the purpose of a military department at universities?
A military department is an additional educational track alongside the main academic program.
It is optional. Applications are accepted in summer before the start of year 2.
Training lasts 2 years (years 2 and 3). After completion, students receive reserve lieutenant status and a military ID, which exempts them from mandatory military service.
