About the faculty

The Faculty of Technology was established in 2010 and is positioned as a research-oriented educational structure based on the mastery of new knowledge-intensive technologies in the priority areas of the country's economic development.

The faculty comprises four departments: "Light Industry Technology and Design", "Technology and Standardization", "Social and Humanitarian Disciplines", and "Physical Education".

The departments are headed by scholars with extensive experience in research and teaching, and a bachelor's graduate has the opportunity to continue their studies in a master's program.

Mission

To be the leading faculty of the technological field in the professional training of competitive specialists in the food and light industries, designers and architects who meet the modern requirements of technical education among the universities and faculties of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Vision

The Faculty of Technology is positioned as a research-oriented educational structure based on the mastery of new knowledge-intensive technologies in the priority areas of the country's economic development.

Faculty goal

To train highly qualified personnel and fundamentally prepared specialists, to advance science and technology, and to implement competitive educational programs.

Faculty tasks
  • Strengthening the educational and laboratory base of the faculty's departments with a view to further expansion.
  • Increasing the number of bachelor's and master's educational programs.
  • Improving the quality of the teaching staff and increasing the proportion of degree-holders by inviting qualified teachers with academic and scientific degrees, as well as through in-house training of personnel via master's and doctoral studies.
  • Strengthening research activity at the faculty through research institutes and the active participation of the faculty's scholars in fundamental and applied research.
  • A steady annual increase in the number of applicants enrolling in bachelor's and master's programs, as well as in the number of graduates.

Group of educational programs 6B021 — Arts

Design: fashion, interior design and industrial design.

The distinctive feature of the "Design" educational program is the growing demand for professional designers in the design of architectural objects, graphic design and industrial design.

The program is aimed at in-depth theoretical and practical training that allows students to combine fundamental knowledge with applied skills in the field of design.

The functions of professional activity include a command of modern means, methods and forms of artistic design for the creation of a harmonious spatial and object environment and a variety of artistic objects.

Graduates are prepared to carry out creative and artistic work in the design of fragments of the architectural environment, expositions, interiors, visual communications, advertising, and industrial and household items.

Educational program "Graphic Design"

Graduate qualification: Bachelor of Arts in the educational program "Graphic Design".
Types of professional activity
  • Graphic design of advertising and printed products.
  • Development of the graphic language and visual culture of a brand.
  • Decorative art and photographics.

Educational program "Architectural Design"

Graduate qualification: Bachelor of Arts in the educational program "Architectural Design".

The program covers the design of the architectural environment, interior design, landscape design and monumental and decorative art.

The objects of professional activity are urban and rural ensembles, small architectural forms, elements of landscaping and greening, exposition spaces, equipment and furniture for the urban environment and public buildings.

Career tracks
  • Design and engineering activity under the guidance of a design specialist: developing concepts, projects, mock-ups and models of new objects and products.
  • Organizational and managerial activity using professional computer software, as well as the study of the forms, principles and strategies of entrepreneurial and financial activity.
  • Scientific and pedagogical activity in scientific and educational organizations.
  • Continuing education in master's and doctoral programs in the fields of art, culture, design and pedagogy.

The training is aimed at preparing a specialist capable of creating their own business in the field of fashion and beauty, managing a beauty salon or fitness center, and administering the operations of these enterprises.
