The 10th International Congress on Domestic Animal Breeding, Genetics and Husbandry (ICABGEH-2026) took place in Muğla, Turkey, from September 22 to 24, 2026.
The congress brought together researchers from various countries and served as an international platform for exchanging scientific findings in the fields of animal husbandry, genetics, biotechnology, veterinary medicine, and sustainable agricultural development.
On September 23, a research paper was presented as part of the conference. The study was conducted under the Program-Targeted Funding (PTF) project BR24992761, titled "Search for new sources of domestic, competitive, and safe herbal preparations for medical and veterinary use, and the study of their chemical properties and biological activity," led by Professor Ye.M. Suleimen. The paper was titled "Larvicidal Activity of Polygonum aviculare and Polygonum argyrocoleon Extracts Against Strongylid Larvae in vitro." The author team included Lyudmila A. Lider, Gulzhan Yeszhanova, Gulnur Mamytbekova, Yerlan Suleimen, Madiyar Yessimkhanov, Nellya Mannapova, and Amanbol Talgat.
The research focused on evaluating the antiparasitic activity of plant extracts against gastrointestinal strongylid larvae of farm animals under laboratory conditions.
The experimental work examined the larvicidal activity of two plant species: Polygonum aviculare and Polygonum argyrocoleon. The results are of scientific interest for the future development of plant-based antiparasitic agents, which offer a promising avenue for the prevention and control of helminth infections in animals. Participation in the international congress made it possible to present the results of Kazakhstani research to the international scientific community, gain insight into current trends in veterinary science, and expand opportunities for international scientific collaboration.
Symposium participants were presented with certificates.
