The First Reverse Vending Machine in Kazakhstan on a University Campus
KazUTB has installed the first reverse vending machine in Kazakhstan — a smart vending unit that accepts plastic bottles and aluminium cans and returns money for each item handed in. This is a practical initiative to reduce plastic pollution and build a culture of separate waste collection.
Research Internship in Berlin on "Green Technologies"
Associate Professor Nurgul Sagievna Mamytova and Assistant Professor Kuralai Aitzhanovna Mukanova successfully completed a 6-month research internship in ecology at Humboldt University (Berlin, Germany) under the "Internship of 500 Scholars" programme. They studied modern approaches in renewable energy, Smart Grid, energy sector transformation and ESG investment.
