Protecting and restoring terrestrial ecosystems and promoting their sustainable use. KazUTB scientists monitor soil pollution and implement programs to reduce the anthropogenic impact on the ecosystems of Central and Western Kazakhstan.

Monitoring of soil pollution in Central and Western Kazakhstan, and development of measures to remediate and reduce heavy metal content

The project aims at a comprehensive assessment of the ecological state of the soil cover and the development of scientifically grounded solutions to reduce the level of anthropogenic pollution. Dynamic monitoring is planned for 2025–2027, with the construction of predictive models of changes in pollution levels and the development of phytoremediation and biological remediation methods.

University activities

Research Internship in Berlin on "Green Technologies"

Associate Professor Nurgul Sagievna Mamytova and Assistant Professor Kuralai Aitzhanovna Mukanova completed a 6-month internship at Humboldt University (Berlin) on the topic "Green Technologies and Sustainable Development" under the "Internship of 500 Scholars" programme. The experience gained is applied in the university's research and educational activities.
